Osteopathy was founded in 1874 and is a form of manual medicine with a philosophy of treating the whole person.

The philosophy of osteopathy is that the structure of the body will relate to how it is functioning. It follows the principal that:
  1. The body is a unit - No single part of the body works independently. This includes the integration between body and mind.
  2. The body is capable of self-regulation, self-healing and health maintenance - The job of the osteopath is to assist the body in healing itself.
  3. Structure and function are inter-related - The structure of the body effects its function and vice versa.

Osteopathy is one of the fasted growing medical professions in Australia. Click here for further information
