Anthony practices with an osteopathic philosophy which focuses on applying modern evidence based medicine with traditional osteopathic philosophy with hands on osteopathic techniques. Anthony has experience in the management of a wide variety of patients and conditions from adults with headaches, back pain, sports injuries, complex pain (e.g. fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue) and pregnancy related pain to infants and babies with feeding complications and colic. He believes in the osteopathic principals of  finding the health of the individual which will enhance recovery, maintain injury prevention, and augment general well-being.

Anthony commenced his medical studies in a Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences Degree at Victoria University transferred into a Bachelor of Clinical Sciences. He then went on to complete his Masters of Health Science in Osteopathy at Victoria University. He has also undertaken extracurricular studies on areas such as the immune system in osteopathic practice and osteopathic considerations and treatment of common clinical presentations (e.g. asthma, the gastrointestinal tract, dysmenorrhea, and headaches). In 2013 Anthony underwent further study in thoracic (chest) inlet function integrating visceral and bio-mechanics along with continued study in his particular interest in pediatrics and osteopathic treatment of infants and children.

The treatment approach of Dr. Anthony Dileo (Osteopath) is based on patient need and varies from gentle soft tissue, articulation, and cranial osteopathy (especially for complex pain, infants and children) through to muscle energy technique, manipulation, and soft tissue techniques (e.g. for sports injuries). Anthony has undergone further study to enhance the hands on osteopathic treatment approach and prides himself on applying traditional osteopathic manual therapy (no special implements/needles are used during the consult).

Anthony also has a great interest in travel and culture and has traveled extensively throughout the world. In 2006, Anthony gained valuable experience working alongside another osteopath as a manual therapist throughout Europe.

His main interest is in the history, philosophy and principals of Osteopathy and he is continuing further study in advances of Osteopathic research and practice and how it applies to people of all ages and different backgrounds.  He believes in a ‘holistic’ and dynamic approach to treatment and individualising care based on the individual rather than just their symptoms.

Dr. Drew Howell (Osteopath)
M.H.Sci (Osteo), B.Sc. (Clin.Sci.)

Drew’s interest in Osteopathy commenced from a very young age which eventually lead to a mentor program by a well-known Osteopath in NSW. Drew's passion for osteopathy lead him to Victoria University in Melbourne where he went on to complete his Bachelor of Clinical Sciences and Masters of Health Science degrees.

Taking a structural approach to treatments, including a deep bio-mechanical understanding of the function of the body, Drew utilises an array of Osteopathic Techniques, Dry Needling and Rehabilitation with patients. He has a deep respect for alternative medical modalities, and is always seeking the best outcome for the patient, understanding each patient is unique and requires different care.

Drew’s Master’s Research project was on Sleep Quality, and it’s link to chronic medical conditions including chronic musculo-skeletal pain. Through this he has developed a holistic approach to his Osteopathic care, and understands the combined roles of sleep, nutrition and exercise outside of treatment in the management of health, and the influence our lifestyles can have on our system.

Competing at a National level in Surf Life Saving events has helped Drew gain a further understanding of the body, and he enjoys sharing this knowledge with patients. He treats a wide range of injuries and ailments, acute and chronic across people young and old. His interest is musculo-skeletal complaints, and he enjoys the challenges of working through both pre-existing and recent injuries to obtain the best possible outcome for patients.

Drew ensures his patients are actively aware of their own role in their recovery, and takes the time to manage each patient through their rehabilitation with careful and consistent monitoring of their progress.

Drew recently featured in a local news publication: http://www.heraldsun.com.au/leader/central/yarra-athletes-splash-out-for-navy-australian-surf-rowers-league-series/story-fngnvlpt-1227112228558
